Amigurumi Sorda Cat
PLEASE NOTE: Jennifer Wang Bears is currently transitioning to Pear Dinkum. All patterns associated with my old website are currently unavailable.
Finished size: approx 6 x 11cm ~ 2 1/3 x 4 1/3 inches (seated)
Materials:
-
Yarn in any colours you wish (where A = main colour; B = secondary colour, C = colour for the inner ears). I used 8ply 100% acrylic, but you could replace this with whatever you have, provided you match it with the appropriate-sized crochet hook. You want to aim for a fairly tight stitch with no gaps between the stitches.
-
Crochet hook (I used two hooks: 3.5mm for the ears and 2.5mm for everything else)
-
7.5mm safety eyes. You could also use buttons, beads or felt, or simply embroider the eyes on (NOTE: embroidery is recommended if giving this toy to a small child)
-
Wool needle
-
Polyester stuffing (optional: buttons, coins, polypropylene beads to weigh down the arms)
-
Row markers (this could be as simple as a short piece of yarn or string. Place it in the last stitch of each row so you don’t lose your place as you complete the rounds)
-
Pins for marking out the eyes and holding pieces in place before hand sewing
-
Strong craft glue for gluing the eyes in place
