Pattern for an Amigurumi Stag Beetle, modelled after a male specimen of Lucanus cervus.
Gauge is not important for this pattern, but all the colours used should have the same weight and the fabric should be rather stiff and tight enough for the stuffing not to show.
Yarn colours needed: Black, White, Dark Brown.
The amount of yarn needed is very small for White and Dark Brown and fairly small for Black (<<50g of Aran weight, I probably used roughly 20g).
This amigurumi animal requires quite a lot of sewing to join all the parts. I mostly used sewing thread for the legs, wings, breast plate and head, and the yarn itself to sew together both body halves (this is detailed in the pattern).
