Amigurumi Superman
I created this Superman for my nephew - I made the pattern as I went along and decided to post it to Ravelry to share. I used stash yarns to create this super little fella.
Most of the yarns I used were Red Heart Super Saver in my stash, although I used a “mystery” yellow yarn from my husband’s grandmother (DK weight I think, hence the F hook for the pieces made with that yarn) and the blue yarn is Red Heart Soft (a smidge thinner & smoother than the Red Heart Super Saver yarn). I used:
- Red Heart Super Saver - Cherry Red
- Red Heart Super Saver - Aran
- Red Heart Super Saver - Coffee
- Red Heart Soft - Navy
- “Mystery” DK-ish weight yarn - Yellow
I’m no pro at crochet, but since there is some embroidery and a hidden joining of the legs to the body, I’d rate this at an advanced beginner to intermediate skill level.
Now a note about copyright, licensing, and terms of use…
When I first searched for Superman doll patterns, I found that they were all paid patterns. I’m a cheapo on a budget, and I’m trying to stretch my crochet & pattern skills, so I wanted to make my own pattern. I finished my Superman, gifted him, and then put together the pattern with the intentions of putting it up for sale. So I started to look into the process of selling patterns. After doing some research on copyright & licensing, I decided to post it for free (lest I reach out to Warner Brothers to inquire about licensing fees that I’m sure I can’t afford). Since I don’t hold the original copyright on Superman, I can’t sell the pattern or endorse any sales of the finished product(s). SO, with that being said:
The pattern is free to use for personal use, charity, or gifts.
The pattern is free to share via the Ravelry download link.
