Thuja occidentalis—often called cedar—is ubiquitous in the Lower Mainland. Narrow, manicured trees stand in neat lines along the perimeters of suburban yards, and cedar farms are planted among cornfields and berry farms. The lace is inspired by the flat branches of Thuja leaves, and this shapely, draped cowl sits nicely around the neck.
