Among the Wildflowers
10-2020--I have updated this pattern to my current format and style, and added new photos and a stitch chart to help you get started. If you purchased this pattern in the past, the update is waiting for you in your Ravelry Library. I’ve also updated the file in The Natural Ebook, that contains this pattern as well.
This updated pattern is also available in my The Naturalist EBook along with Secrets of Bees and The Naturalist. Buy all three for $7.00 and download as one PDF. Click on “The Naturalist” link at the top of this page to reach the page for the Ebook.

“You belong among the wildflowers, You belong in a boat out at sea, Sail away, kill off the hours, You belong somewhere you feel free…”--Tom Petty
Among the Wildflowers scarf is light and airy, and reminds me of a field of wildflowers, and that reminds me of this song! This scarf is perfect for a chilly day or for the transition into Spring, or with a very light cotton or linen yarn for Summer.
The body of the scarf is crocheted sideways with an easy six-row repeat for both the increase and the decrease sections. One edge is straight while the bottom edge curves forming a modified crescent shape. Once the body of the scarf is crocheted, the petal edging is crocheted along the curved edge without breaking the yarn.
This is truly a one skein project, using one skein of at least 435 yards of sock or fingering weight yarn. For my scarf I used Mineville Wool Project 100G Sock yarn in the colorway “Boudoir”.
Use your favorite speckle or tonal hand-painted yarn of at least 435 yards to make your own beautiful easy-to-wear scarf.
