Amplified Shawl
Note: Clarification in the pattern. On Row 1 of the garter eyelet band I do knit (not purl) the center stitch. I like the look of a solid band there. On Row 2 of the garter eyelet band you should maintain the center knit stitch by doing the (yo,k2tog) repeat to the center marker, slip the marker, knit the center stitch and slip the next marker. Then continue the garter eyelets as written. On Row 3 of the garter eyelet band the center stitch should again be knit ( not purled).**
This triangular shawl was designed specifically to take advantage of the wide bands of color inherent in Universal Yarn’s very fun Uptown Bulky Amplify. It’s self-striping with textured eyelet bands worked roughly at the color-changes for a beautiful, crisp chevron effect that looks more complicated than it really is.
It comes in a variety of super cool colorways such as “All the Rage”, “Soccer Star”, “Speedy” and “Intensity” that range from the calmer end of the spectrum to fully amped-up. It knits quickly into a chunky, yummy, sumptuous shawl that drapes around you like a hug from your “funnest“ friend. It’s an easy project that you are sure to enjoy!
ONE SIZE: After Blocking ~73” wingspan x 24” back neck to center tip.
MATERIALS
Yarn: 2 skeins of Universal Yarns – Uptown Bulky Amplify
Needles: Size 11 or 13 needles (size 11 for looser knitters and size 13 for tighter knitters)
