Amplify Hat is luxuriously soft knit in either the recommended US farm yarn from Morehouse Farm Merino or in the hand-dyed, South American yarn, Malabrigo Caprino. Choose a colorful variegated yarn as your contrast to create a playful color palette, accentuated by the brim cast-on and spirited lice stitches floating up to the crown.

Amplify Cowl is a complementary pattern that uses different techniques to create a companion accessory. To learn more about the inspiration for these designs, check out my Knit Kind podcast on YouTube.

I suggest two yarn recommendations, a US-based farm yarn and a South American, hand-dyed yarn broadly available at local yarn shops (LYS). Both producers offer a range of beautifully variegated yarn with an extensive color palette.

Morehouse Farm Merino is a buttery-soft farm yarn. Founded in 1983 in the Hudson River Valley of New York State, the farm imported two superfine Merino rams in 1987 with the goal of reintroducing the breed in New England. Today, this exceptional wool is still 100% grown and processed in the United States.

Malabrigo Caprino is a luxuriously soft fine wool and cashmere blend from a family-owned company sourcing fiber from Uruguay with operations in Peru. Colorways are often inspired by nature.
