Amyrgen
Be merry, be of good cheer, in this happy new year.
Celebrating the long history of Yorkshire, ‘Amyrgen’ is from Old English and means loosely ‘to be merry, to be cheerful’.
Toast the new year in with slanting winter sunlight and your favourite warming beverage - buttoned up in Celtic cables and bobbled berries. Even your drink will be warm if you decide to venture out…
This small mug cosy is great for those odds and ends of aran leftover from Christmas knitting - using just about half of a 50g ball.
Embracing an allover aran texture, the variety of small cables create a lovely 3D fabric and are a great chance to try cables for the first time - or have a go at cabling without a cable needle.
Here’s a link to my tutorial film on cabling without a cable needle to help you get started: https://youtu.be/DJWBUt3T-08
