An Apple A Day
Hi Ravelers!
Here’s an update to An Apple A Day.
This version simplifies some instructions and incorporates more industry-standard practices and terminology, still available as a free Ravelry download.
This pattern is a basic baby/child hat knitted in the round, with a bit of i-cord for the stem and an attached leaf.
It knits up quickly and uses approximately 100 - 150 yards of red for the apple, a scrap of brown for the stem and a scrap of green for the leaf.
Suggested yarn fiber is superwash wool or acrylic for ease of care when laundering.
16” circular needles and 5 DPNs in US 8 - 5.0 mm were used when designing this pattern. It can be knit completely on DPNs.
Gauge
19 stitches 26 rows = 4” in stockinette st in the round. - Gauge is approximate
