An extra pocket -- you know the one. That pocket that you need to keep your cell phone in, when your beautiful new dress pants don’t have any pockets at all.

This simple little pouch is a great stash buster. It takes less than 150 yards of light to medium fingering weight yarn -- unless you want a really l-o-o-o-n-g strap. And it’s quick to knit on 3mm needles.

If you’ve got a bigger cell phone, the pouch stretches amply, width-wise, and it’s easy to add a little extra length, if your phone has a full keyboard.

The I-cord strap is also easily adjustable for length -- although, it’s a really good idea to make it long enough to attach to the full length of the pouch on either side -- it makes the finished pocket more stable and helps it stay closed, when there’s something in it.

The pattern is written for 4 double pointed needles, but is easily adaptable to magic loop or 2 circs, if you’d rather. And the only extra tool you’ll need is a tapestry needle to sew up the bottom and attach the i-cord!

So, dive into your stash and make yourself several in every possible colour or combination of colours, to co-ordinate with your entire wardrobe of pocket-less dress pants!
