Anar Firecracker Pencil Puppet / Pencil Topper
A free version of this pattern is available on my Instagram - @Glitter.Sparkle.Sprinkle
This design is part of my ’Diwali Patakha Pencil Puppets’ collection which includes:
- Anar Patakha Pencil Puppet (Firecracker)
- Rocket Patakha Pencil Puppet (Firecracker)
Here are a few tips to help you make some decisions on trying out my pattern:
Any quick tips on the yarn you can use?
I used the Vardhman Baby Soft Wool - approx. 10-12 meters
Hook size : 3 mm
Weight of final product : 4 gms
You are free to use any brand/type of yarn and the corresponding hook size for this pencil puppet. Although I would strongly advise a lightweight yarn as or it will be impossible to use this on a pencil while writing.
You are also free to use the colours of your choice.
How much time will it take you to make it?
I wanted to make something fun and quick - this should take you around 30-45 minutes to make.
Is the puppet usable in the real-world?
My puppets are designed such that the puppet once placed on the pencil, doesn’t easily fall off the pencil. You can swing the pencil a bit after you place your puppet on it, just to be sure that it stays put :)
Although, we all crochet with different tension & also not all pencils are of the same diameter - thus, you could also try putting a rubber band on the pencil before slipping the puppet onto it. That should definitely help keep it in place.
I had a lot of fun designing my Anar Patakha Pencil Puppet. Hope you have as much fun making it! Do share your photos by tagging me on Instagram @Glitter.Sparkle.Sprinkle or Ravelry - I’d love to see your creations!!!
