Comfort with soft flowing drapes means this easy to knit shawl is there for any occasion. Anas Crecca is the Latin name for the Eurasian Teal; a stunning small duck that has a flash of teal under its wing.

The sample shown here is worked using fingering-weight, hand-dyed yarn from Garnstories, Undercover Otter and Madelinetosh.

The main body of the shawl has a simple but effective slip stich pattern to give texture and allow the hand dyed yarn to excel. A short bright stripe of teal then gives way to a rich lace pattern in gently variegated yarn from Madelinetosh.

The overall effect is a stunningly soft and gentle wrap that can be worn in a variety of ways. The Teal stripe adds
a quirky quick flash of delight, just like the duck as it takes off.

Sample uses 610 m / 668 yds fingering weight yarn. Size 4 mm / US Size 6 needles.

Main colour - 280 m / 306 yds
Teal stripe - 25 m / 28 yds
Lace - 305 m / 334 yds.

Gauge is not crucial to this project, but varying gauges will affect yardage and final measurements.

The sample shown is 18 stitches and 37 rows = 10 cm / 4 inches in the slip stitch pattern after blocking.
