Ancient Oak
Pattern Description from A Fine Fleece: “These lacy little socks use a simple Shetland feather lace motif that reminds me of oak leaves. For the light gray handspun socks, I designed a fiber blend with exceptional character and durability for hardwearing socks. Light gray Romney wool was blended with silver mohair in a 75:25 ratio. Then I blended this mix with nylon fiber so that nylon made up 25 percent of the total weight. I added the nylon for its durable properties. The soft and warm halo of the mohair is a more subtle contrast to the openness of the lace pattern. The spice-colored Footpath sock yarn represents the color of oak leaves in late autumn.”
