I love the idea of wearing this cardigan over a sweet skirt, or tailored jeans and tank. Pair with some boat shoes to enforce the nautical feel of the garter stitch stripes. I love that the garter stitch stripes are worked with the traditional wrong-side as the right-side to add just a touch of whimsy to an otherwise preppy cardigan. Play with different colors to make this design all your own!

Yarn Knit Picks CotLin, 70% Tanguis Cotton; 30% Linen; 123yds/50g: Swan (MC), 6 (7, 7, 8, 8, 9, 9) skeins; Sagebrush (CC), 2 (2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4) skeins.
Needles Size 6 (4.0 mm): straight; Size 5 (3.75 mm): straight, circular. Adjust needle sizes if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Markers (m); stitch holders; tapestry needle; seven 1/2” buttons.
Gauge
20 sts and 28 rows = 4” (10 cm) in Gt st on smaller needles;
18 sts and 28 rows = 4” (10 cm) in St st on larger needles.
Notes Place a marker at the start of neck shaping to help with picking up stitches for the button band.
