This Andesite Fair Isle Winter Hat knitting pattern comes in both adult and child sizes, and both of these come with two sizes as well - as we all know, heads, as well as people, come in many shapes and sizes, and we need to be able to adapt what we make to the person in front of us. The hat has been popular at my winter markets in the past, and as it is relatively fast to knit up, it is a suitable pattern to make for selling. The pattern is good for beginners and people new to stranded colourwork.

The pattern is written out in English only and includes details on how to make the fair isle pattern (stranded colourwork) as well as suggestions for colour combinations, how much yarn you need and a rough tension guide. The hats are made with Drops Andes yarn - a chunky alpaca/wool mix yarn, but any yarn with a similar yardage can be used (90 m per 100 g). They are made with 8 mm knitting needles.
