This pattern is for a two layer coat; each layer is knitted separately and they are joined around the outside edges. Each layer requires 5 skeins (900 yards) of Dale Garn Baby Ull, in different colors.

From the pattern description: The body and sleeves of each layer are worked sideways, back and forth in rows. The sleeves are then joined to the body and stitches for the yoke are picked up. The hood is worked separately and sewn to the yoke.
