Anemone is meticulously crafted using a top-down, seamless knitting technique with stranded colourwork. And yes, an exciting steeking process brings this beautiful cardi to life!

Notes on construction

Anemone is a circular yoke cardigan knitted seamlessly and steeked in the round. The yoke design is uncomplicated, featuring short rows and subtle increases leading to the armholes. Once there, the sleeves are separated, and the body remains in stockinette stitch. The bottom half of the cardigan showcases the motif, extending to the garment’s end. If you desire a lengthier cardigan, keep knitting the body until it is 17.5 cm / 7” less than the desired length. Remember to purchase extra yardage and buttons, as an extra skein and a couple of buttons are required. The sleeves are then knitted in the round, with all ribs - body, cuffs, and neckline - worked on 3x1 ribbing.

The Story After…

Large kitchens are often the setting for family events around a table. anemone is inspired by the tiles of one of those kitchens where we have celebrated birthday parties or said goodbye to the year with a glass of champagne. The anemone flowers are an abstraction of that ceramic I know will always be in my memory.
This is the cardigan version of my Anemone pattern. A nostalgic sweater, inspired by Orla Kiely’s designs and flavored with Kanel Bullar!

Main fabric of the garment: 4 mm - 60 / 80 cm US 6 - 24 / 32” circular needles or the needle size needed to achieve the correct gauge.

Sleeves: Use your preferred needles for knitting small circumferences (such as Magic Loop or DPN).

4.5 mm / 20 cm US 7 / 8” circular needles or the needle size needed to achieve the correct gauge.

Ribbing: 3.5 mm - 60 / 80 / 20 cm US 4 - 24 / 32 / 8” circular needles or 0.5 mm US 2 less than the size of the needle needed to obtain the main fabric gauge.

Hook for steek: 3.5 mm US E4 - UK 9 crochet hoor or 0.5 mm US 2 sizes down of the needle needed to obtain the main fabric gauge.

He trabajado meticulosamente en Anemone utilizando una técnica de tejido sin costuras de arriba hacia abajo con colourwork en la parte del bajo de la chaqueta. Y sí, ¡este patrón incluye la gran aventura de cortar el tejido mediante la técnica de Steek!

Acerca de la construcción

Anemone es un chaqueta con canesú circular tejido sin costuras que se remata con la técnica de steek para transformar el “sweater” en chaqueta. El diseño del canesú es sencillo, con vueltas cortas y aumentos sutiles hasta a las sisas. Una vez allí, se separan las mangas y el cuerpo queda en punto jersey. En la mitad inferior del chaqueta se teje el motivo, que se extiende hasta el final de la prenda. Si prefieres un chaqueta más larga, sigue tejiendo el cuerpo hasta que mida 17,5 cm / 7” menos que el largo deseado. Recuerda comprar un par de botones y una madeja más si decides alargarlo. Luego se tejen las mangas. en circular, Todos los elásticos -cuerpo, puños y escote- trabajados en punto elástico 3x1.

La inspiración: Las grandes cocinas suelen ser el escenario de eventos familiares y de amigos alrededor de una mesa. Anemone está inspirado en los azulejos de una de esas cocinas donde hemos celebrado fiestas de cumpleaños o despedimos el año con una copa de champán. Las flores de Anemone son una abstracción de esa cerámica que sé que siempre estará en mi memoria. Esta es la versión chaqueta de mi patrón Anemone. Colourwork: el color dominante (el color del motivo) debe sujetarse siempre a la izquierda del color no dominante (el color de fondo), ya sea en un dedo o en la mano izquierda, mientras que el otro hilo está a la derecha, se muy constante con esto en todo momento para que tu trabajo quede pulido y tu puntada limpia.
