Anemone Granny Square
This fun, modern granny square looks a little like a cross between a sunflower and an anemone! The ‘petals’ are achieved by working clusters of double-treble crochets. If you’ve never done one of these before, don’t worry; step-by-step instructions as well as clear photos are available.
The pattern makes a 10x10 cm (4”x4”) square if the suggested yarn (DMC Natura Just Cotton) is used, but this can easily be sized up by using either a heavier yarn than stated or by adding several more rounds of granny trebles.
The shades of Natura Just Cotton I’ve used are Blue Jeans/Brique, Ivory, Aswan, and Gris Argent (less than 1 skein required for each colour). By using 100% cotton yarn, the resulting square is durable and can be machine washed.
