Large kitchens are often the setting for family events around a table. Anemona is inspired by the tiles of one of those kitchens where we have celebrated birthday parties or said goodbye to the year with a glass of champagne. The Anemona flowers are an abstraction of that ceramic that I know will always be in my memory.

Intended ease

Recommended ease: approx. 10-20 cm / 4-8” of positive ease.
To correctly choose your size: measure your favourite sweater from side to side, below the armhole. Multiply that number by two and choose the final chest girth measurement that closely matches that number. Or measure your chest contour, add the desired ease and choose the closest size to that number.

Notes on construction

Anemona is a circular yoke with top-down construction. You will start with a provisional cast-on and leave the short rows and the collar for later. The yoke structure is simple, with invisible increases up to the armholes, where we separate both sleeves and continue knitting the body. In the second half of the body sweater, we work the motif until the end of the garment. All ribs: body, cuffs and neckline are worked on 3x1 ribbing. Then we will work the sleeves in the round. Finally, we raise the neckline of the back with a few simple short rows and finish off with the rib at the neck.

Amounts may vary because of the type of yarn, personal gauge, and any changes made to the pattern.

The sweater is knitted in worsted or DK weight. Try to choose well-contrasting colours for the yoke colour work.

Gauge

20 stitches per 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4” in stocking stitch IN THE ROUND and with larger needles after blocking.

Techniques

Provisional cast-on method (with a hook).
Cable cast-on.
Colourwork: the dominant colour (the motif colour) should always be held to the left of the non-dominant colour (the background colour), either on a finger or in the left hand, while the other thread is on the right, and you must keep this constant throughout.

Las grandes cocinas suelen ser el escenario de eventos familiares y de amigos alrededor de una mesa. Anemone está inspirado en los azulejos de una de esas cocinas donde hemos celebrado fiestas de cumpleaños o despedimos el año con una copa de champán. Las flores de Anemone son una abstracción de esa cerámica que sé que siempre estará en mi memoria.

Holgura

Holgura recomendada: aprox. 10-20 cm / 4-8” de holgura positive.

Para elegir correctamente tu talla: mide de lado a lado, por debajo de la sisa, tu jersey favorito. Multiplica ese número por dos y elige la medida final de contorno de pecho que más se parezca a ese número. O bien mide tu contorno de pecho, suma la holgura deseada y elige la talla que más se acerque a ese número.

Acerca de la construcción

Anemone es un jersey de canesú circular con una construcción de arriba hacia abajo. Empezarás con un montaje provisional y dejarás las vueltas cortas y el cuello para más adelante. La estructura del canesú es sencilla, con aumentos invisibles hasta las sisas, donde separamos ambas mangas y continuamos tejiendo el cuerpo. En la segunda mitad del cuerpo, trabajamos el motivo floral hasta el final de la prenda.

Todos los remates-elásticos: cuerpo, puños y escote están tejidos en punto elástico 3x1. Después trabajaremos las mangas en circular. Por último, elevamos el escote de la espalda con unas sencillas vueltas cortas y rematamos con el remate elástico del cuello.

Hilo

Recuerda que estas cantidades son aproximadas y pueden variar debido a tu tensión, la aguja y el tipo de hilo que utilices o cualquier cambio que puedas hacer en el patrón.

El jersey está tejido en grosor worsted o DK. Intenta elegir colores bien contrastados para el canesú para que el trabajo de color no se pierda.

Tejido principal de la prenda

Agujas circulares de 4 mm - 60 / 80 cm US 6 - 24 / 32” o el tamaño de aguja necesario para obtener la tensión correcta.

Muestra de tensión (galga)

20 p y 28 vueltas = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4” con las agujas de mayor tamaño, en punto jersey EN CIRCULAR después de bloquear.

Técnicas

Montaje provisional con aguja de crochet.
Montaje en cable (cable cast on).
Colourwork: el color dominante (el color del motivo) debe sujetarse siempre a la izquierda del color no dominante (el color de fondo), ya sea en un dedo o en la mano izquierda, mientras que el otro hilo está a la derecha, se muy constante con esto en todo momento para que tu trabajo quede pulido y tu puntada limpia.
