These mittens are knitted in the round with the angel ‘drawn’ with twisted knit stitches on a background of reverse stocking stitch. I’ve used a wool alpaca blend dk yarn in natural cream so the stitch pattern shows up well but with a slight halo. The angel’s actual halo is also created in stitches, but I have embroidered over them using gold thread.
I like the idea of a Christmas knit that is quite understated , but still conveys the spirit of Christmas
