Oaks are known as an enduring emblem of strength and survival. In South Carolina there is a special oak tree called the Angel Oak, estimated to be 300-500 years old. It has withstood countless hurricanes, floods, and earthquakes. With a circumference of 25.5 feet it shades an area of over 17,000 square feet, protecting and sheltering the local area birds and animals, and standing as a testament to time.

This is a simple little one size mitt that makes a good project to use left over yarn. Choose a light fingering yarn that will show good stitch definition.

You can decide if you want to do a picot edge, no picot edge… or how you want your mitts to look. The cable cuff really draws the fabric in… do not judge the size of the cuff by the picot edge if you are using it.

Happy knitting!
