Angel Wings Mosaic Blanket
This pattern is an overlay mosaic pattern available in both a chart in two size formats (a more printer friendly 6 page version, or a larger print 12 page version) as well as written instructions. It is an intermediate level pattern, which requires some knowledge of reading a chart because it is a non-repeating pattern.
You will need at least two contrasting colors. I used 7 of the 7 oz skeins of Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn in white as my color A and 4 of the 10 oz skeins of Red Heart Super Saver Ombré in True Blue as my Color B. Finished size and amount of yarn used will vary based on tension and yarn weight. Mine was done in acrylic worsted weight and my finished size was 45 in x 60 in without the border. With the border it was 50 in x 65 in.
Thank you so much to Elizabeth White who generously agreed to be a pattern tester for me! Her results are slightly different due to the fact that she used 3 colors to incorporate a technique of carrying the color in the sections that had both wing elements and words. She also used a DK weight yarn and a Tulip brand 4.00 mm hook.
In the DK weight, Elizabeth’s came out to be 40 in x 51 in with a 2 inch border. She used Hobbii Megaball in Baby Blue (1 skein plus a bit extra for about 10 more rows) approximately 1400 to 1500 yards, Paintbox Simply DK in Granite Grey (2 skeins) approximately 604 yds, and Paintbox Simply DK in Paper White (5 skeins) approximately 1510 yds.
We both used the Beba Blanket technique for an envelope border.
