Angela Makes Mini Skein Cowl
I recently attended a workshop to learn how to hand dye yarn naturally. I used onion skins (red and yellow/brown), cochineal, comfrey, rosemary, brazil wood and log wood. I arrived home with ten, 10g skeins and wanted to create something that would keep all the skeins together and remind me of the workshop. I also had purchased the first three months of the Middle Earth Minis club 2022 from Giddy Yarns and again wanted to keep these skeins together in one make. Welcome the Angela Makes Mini Skein cowl!!
The pattern is FREE and provides instruction for an adult size cowl but this could easily be made smaller for a child by reducing the number of stitches in multiples of 8. I have provided a double knit version and a 4-ply version but the yarn weight really isn’t important. I have provided written instructions and a chart for the “lace” part of the pattern and I hope you enjoying making it as much as me. The best part is watching all those mini skeins coming together in a beautiful, wearable garment.
NOTE: gauge provided is for double knit yarn
