Angelica the Angel Tree Topper
Say hello to the Angelica. She is the perfect way to cap off your Christmas tree. She’ll be as good as gold and watch over all the presents under the tree. She would also make a fantastic seasonal decoration or toy. Angelica the Angel easily stands unsupported, with a cone in the middle to help her balance on top of a tree. She has a halo and wings and beautiful curly hair.

This is an original amigurumi crochet pattern designed by me (Smiley Crochet Things) to make an angel tree topper for a Christmas tree. The pattern includes detailed step by step instructions and pictures.
Size (using suggested materials): 16cm (6.25 inches) tall and 11cm (4.5 inches) wide each.
Intermediate pattern - a little crochet knowledge is necessary although only basic stitches are required (chain stitch, single crochet, slip stitch and double crochet are used within this pattern), more complicated stitches used within this pattern are described in detail. This pattern uses the amigurumi method of working in spirals.
The body of this pattern is worked as one piece from the top of the inner cone to the top of the head, so no need for too much tedious hand sewing!
Materials:
- dk/light worsted (8ply) yarn in the required colours (yarns used for picture were Paintbox yarns cotton DK, 100% cotton yarn, and Ricorumi lamé, 62% polyester, 38% polyamide yarn)
- 2.75mm/2.5mm crochet hook
- 6mm black safety eyes
- Polyester toy stuffing
Any yarn can be used with an appropriate sized hook, although other weights of yarn will affect the size of the finished item. No required tension, as long as it is worked fairly tightly.
Please always check materials and current safety standards before giving to a small child.
