A gorgeous triangular shawl worked from the top down. The Stocking Stitch not only makes this a relatively quick and easy TV knit (perfect for keeping in your bag for an on-the-go project) but it also means this shawl will nicely show off a variegated yarn.

The stylish lace hem pattern is charted only (it is not written out row-by-row) so you need to be able to work from charts to follow this pattern.

This shawl uses Popcorns rather than Nupps; I love the effect of Nupps but don’t like the purling together of 9 Sts on the WS rows so I work Popcorns which look just like Nupps but are worked on RS rows only leaving WS rows a purl-only zone! Full instructions on how to work Popcorns are given in the pattern, however, for those who are a sucker for Nupps you can stick with nupps!! (Or substitute both with beads!)

If you’re substituting with beads then you’ll find it helpful to know the bead numbers are as follows: S = 308, M = 378, L = 486

The pattern includes 3 sizes, however, the shawl can be made in any size you wish and instructions are given in the pattern for those who wish to customise the shawl to make it in a different size than the 3 listed.

you can use any weight of yarn you like for this pattern, but I would recommend swatching to make sure the stocking stitch is not too loose or dense. The pictured shawl has a gauge of 32 Sts and 40 rows to 4” using 3.25mm needles using a 4ply/sock yarn.
