My home is in the Vale of York, a place of big skies and arable fields, of birdsong and the occasional sighting of a deer. In other words, a good place for long walks and taking photos. Angram mitts are named after a well-known local lane that leads you into the countryside and are designed for being out and about in colder weather. Long cuffs help to avoid draughty gaps up the sleeves. Long finger and thumb ribs can be rolled down to allow you to use your fingers in the cold without needing to take them off.
This pattern is designed to be a ‘go to’ when you just want a quick fun knit that has a bit of stitch interest and a lot of practicality. The finished mitts are stretchy and lightweight with a subtle texture which cuddles the hand. I have used West Yorkshire Spinners pure Blue Faced Leicester for a bit of luxury and sheen . Two sizes are available. They are designed to fit hands with a circumference of 18-20cm for the first size and 20-22cm for the second size.
I hope you enjoy knitting these mitts are much as I enjoyed designing them.
