I created the animal teapot cozy with the intention of it being an owl, but my results look more like a slightly disgruntled cat. Changing the yarn colour, nose shape and eye positioning can help make it into whatever animal you want. Either way, it will help keep your tea warm while looking cute.

This is sized to fit snuggly over a 24oz bubble teapot from DavidsTEA, but can be easily adjusted to fit other teapot sizes. It has a stitched together top, an opening on one side for the spout, and a button closure on the handle side.

This pattern uses only basic stitches (ch, sc, sc2tog), but assumes you know how to switch colours.

I made my version with 1 50g ball of Bernat Handicrafter Cotton for the main colour, and scraps for the face/chest square, eyes, and nose.
