Anke
I designed this beanie for a friend who wanted me to pay homage to an old, beloved hat of hers. I named it Anke because I can imagine someone hiking the Alps or exploring the Black Forest wearing this hat.
This hat is knit in a large gauge while holding two strands together (one mohair strand throughout and then striping a wool/acrylic blend) so as to make a chunky, warm, stretchy hat. There is only one circumference written as it stretches a lot, but three lengths are given (plus a tip on how to modify for other sizes) to compensate for different head sizes and length preferences. There is also an optional eyelet round to add a little visual intrigue or to add a ribbon/tie if desired. If you don’t want the eyelet round, just knit a round of stockinette in its place.
Each size uses approximately 150 to 200 yards of Naturally Mist, plus 50 yards or less of each of the Kraemer Yarns colorways.
