Ankkuri cardigan
Ankkuri cardigan is a sequel pattern to my Ankkuri socks, which was published in 2022. The cardigan uses same cable which are located the body part and sleeves.
Ankkuri cardigan is designed so you can wear it during every seasons. In the spring and summer time you can wear it as a lightweight jacket. It’s also surprisingly breathable, since the fabric is not too dense. Cardigans are also great pieces for layering, so you can elevate your outfit quite effortlessly.
Ankkuri means “Anchor” in Finnish, and the cables were inspired from boat robes and different nodes. While choosing yarn, I wanted to use the same yarn as in my Ankkuri socks: Säie Wool merino yarn. The colorway “Craving for Latte” was just perfect choice for a coffee lover, haha!
Ankkuri cardigan is knitted top down, starting from the neckline cast-on edge. Saddle shoulder increases are worked on every round.
After that you continue working both front and back, and at the same time start working the sleeve cap increases. Body and sleeve stitches are separated after armhole increases. After the body you work both sleeves in the round.
Finally, the button band is worked using double knitting. The button band is worked with smaller needles, so it will look super neat. You can optionally add buttons and buttonholes to your cardigan.
