Ankle Amplifiers
Introducing the latest addition to BootBuffer’s line of alliterative legwear, the ankle amplifier! This versatile little length of cable and ribbing is designed to work with all manner of ankle-centric footwear, from short boot to high sneaker. The stepped cable pattern is particularly suited for scrunching, should your ankles be in actual need of amplifying to make that shoe fit, but is just as lovely stretched straight when that extra bulk is unnecessary or unwanted. Extended ribbing at the top edge furthers your options, allowing them to be folded over the tops of your shoes with ease.
Although written for one size, this pattern will still fit a variety of humans. When they come off the needles, each ankle amplifier is approximately 7 inches (18 cm) high by 7 inches (18 cm) around, but the inherent stretchiness of knitting should allow for a range of fit. When in doubt try casting on additional stitches in increments of 12 or substitute a bulkier yarn and switch to the needle size recommended on the ball band.
