This is the first in a series of patterns designed for the traveling knitter. Ann Lake is an asymmetrical shawl using two colors with simple and easy-to-memorize stitches. One color commands garter stitches and the other the stockinette and lace stitches, ending with a neat reverse stockinette i-cord edging.
Finished Sizes (blocked): Small (57” long x 16“ deep), Large (75“ long x 21“ deep)
Yarn: Small (brown) - Two 50g skeins of Abacus Dyeworks Authentic Sock, 75% merino/25% nylon/polyamide, 463 yards total for both skeins in Campfire.
Needles: Size US #4 (3.5mm) circular needles in 32” (80cm).
Yarn: Large (blue) – Two 100g skeins of Arfil Belle, 80% merino/20% nylon, 387 yards each skein in Nomad and Amazing Threads Exclusive Colorway #7.
Needles: Size US #5 (3.75mm) circular needles in 32” (80 cm).
Notions: Stitch markers to keep track of repeats and a tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
Gauge: Small (brown) - 28 sts/54 rows = 4”/10cm. Large (blue) - 21 sts/40 rows = 4”/10cm.
