* 5.0mm (U.S H/8) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.
Aran/Worsted Yarn. I used Paintbox Yarns Simply Aran in the colour Racing Green (227).
a 1 inch pom pom maker, or you could use a fork

Gauge:
14sts/11rows 10cmX10cm (4X4 inch) square in half double crochet

Stitches and abbreviations used:
st or sts- stitch or stitches
ch- chain stitch
sl st- slip stitch
sc- single crochet
hdc- half double crochet
puff- puff stitch, see explanation on page 3
RS- right side
WS- wrong side
BLO- back loop only
sl st 2tog- slip stitch two stitches together
