Annapurla Hat
The Annapurla hat is named after the 10th highest mountain in the world, and the highest massif in the Annapurna range, hovering at 8,091 m. This hat was inspired during a 15-day trek in 2016 through the beautiful Annapurna circuit in Nepal. Annapurna is derived from Sanskrit meaning “the giver of nourishment”.
This pattern is worked in the round and uses charted instructions for the main body of the hat. The finished hat measures 22 cm in length, and has a bit of a slouch. The brim can be rolled up if you prefer a snug fit!
Materials:
- 1 skein of Beaverslide 2-Ply Worsted Weight Merino
- US Size 6 16” circular needles for brim
- US Size 7 16” circular needles and double pointed needles for main body and crown
- 1 stitch marker
- 1 cable needle (or learn to cable without a cable needle)
- 1 tapestry needle to weave in ends.
Gauge: 9 cm / 3.5” for one pattern repeat (20 sts) on larger needles.
This pattern has been fully tech edited and test knit - thank you so much to all my test knitters and tech editor for your wonderful advice!
