Annapurna Baby Jumper and Hat
I never know where I’ll find my inspiration for my next design but it’s usually related to something that’s happening in my life. As I’m writing this, my niece is in Nepal undertaking the Annapurna Trek and she’s been updating me daily with awe-inspiring photographs of the mountain range and terrain. The Annapurna jumper’s yoke is reminiscent of the rickety wire bridges my niece crossed over ravines while the main body reminds me of the thousands of steps she had to climb.
This sweater is crocheted top-down with a round yoke. The body is crocheted in one piece and the sleeves and neck trim are then added. The only sewing required is to sew in your loose ends!
This design has a wider neck to make it easy to get over baby’s head and a cuff which can be turned back easily to accommodate different arm lengths. This design includes options for lengthening or shortening the body and/or sleeves and for opting for a looser or more relaxed fit at the waist, cuffs and neck.
