A shawl inspired by Persuasion by Jane Austen.
Anne has always been my favourite Austen heroine, and I wanted the design to represent her story. She may seem meek and easy to persuade but her love is constant and she is eager to make amends.
The shawl is worked in two colours, and you will need approx. 400yds of each. The main body of the shawl is a combination of constant stockinette, garter and eyelet stitch to represent Anne’s constant nature. The colours are inversed twice to represent the two periods when Frederick Wentworth enters her life, and then we end with a pretty lace border that mimics sea waves as a nod to Captain Wentworth and the Royal Navy.
