Hey, everyone! I am beyond excited to introduce you to the Anne Slip Stitch Mosaic Knit Shawl, lovingly named after my dear BFF, annetarsia If you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Anne, let me fill you in – she’s a vibrant color enthusiast and a whiz at intarsia, which, for those of you who don’t knit, means she’s basically a superhero at managing yarn, choosing colors and burying ends.

Now, when I dreamt up this shawl with its gorgeous mosaic stitches and color changes every two rows, I knew it had to pay homage to Anne. Sure, it’s not intarsia, but it’s got that same delightful challenge of playing with color and, yes, managing those ends!

This shawl is made with 5 luscious colors of Twill Fingering yarn – 100% Fine Superwash Merino Wool, so it’s as soft and cozy as it gets. You start at the left corner, work your way to the center with increases on the right-side rows, even it out for a bit, and then head back down with decreases on the wrong-side rows. And the i-cord border? It’s worked right along with the body of the shawl, starting with an i-cord tab – because we like to keep things fancy!

With an 80” wingspan and a center depth of about 29”, it’s perfect for wrapping around your neck or draping over your shoulders. Plus, the mix of four mosaic stitch patterns makes the colors blend together in the most stunning way.

I hope you all love knitting this shawl as much as I loved designing it, and I know Anne would give it her seal of approval (and probably a few tips on burying those ends!). Happy knitting!

Pattern includes schematic, interactive stitch fiddle charts, full row-by-row written instructions, video tutorials.
