Anne's Posy Cowl
This is one part of a pair of patterns: a Cowl knitted in 100 grams, approx 165 yards (151 metres) Aran/ 10ply, which will grow quickly to create a Posy which wraps around your neck. It makes use of a changing, pattern with each section flowing into the next. The second part of the pair is a lace weight Shawl which uses the motifs from this Cowl to develop a more ambitious piece, a beautiful decorative knit called Anne’s Posy Shawl. If you buy this pattern and decide that you would like to go on to knit the shawl then please PM me and I will gift you the Shawl pattern.
This cowl was inspired by Anne: a friend who deserved a bunch of flowers, a gift to grace her shoulders after years of providing a shoulder for many other people. I chose a gorgeous skein of Aran Silk and wrote this pattern, it has since worked well in merino aran. It will make a blocked cowl measuring 22 cm wide and an 80 cm loop.
A quick, but interesting knit; perfect as a luxurious gift. It would make a good ‘first’ lace project with only a few stitches on a row it grows quickly.
