Annika Corrugated
This is another of my stashbusting experiments that plays with the concept of what can be done with the relatively straightforward textured rib I used for my Furrows Cowl. For Annika Strandhed I exchanged the texture for colour, now with Annika Corrugated I re-instate the texture and keep the colour. So, here she is, the same broken rib as before but all the knit stitches are in one colour and the purl in another. The result is corrugated rib, interspersed with rows of knit or purl in different colours. The added accidental feature are the purl ‘bumps’ that appear when a purl stitch in one colour bumps into a knit stitch in the other colour in the same column of stitches. Such is the wonder of knitting that adding colour adds to the texture without needing to do anything else! Sometimes unintended consequences are most definitely positive.
As with Annika Strandhed, it would be really interesting to see what happens when different pairings of yarn come together.
This is a prototype and only in one size, but the circumference can be increased by adding multiples of four stitches to the cast on. Four stitches equates to 1.7cm (0.7 inches), so 12 stitches will add another 5cm (2 inches) to the circumference.
I hope that you enjoy your own experiments with Annika Corrugated.
