These charming Fair Isle fingerless mitts and headband set will keep you cosy through autumn, winter and into spring. Annys combines the ease of stocking stitch with the diversion of lovely Fair Isle design.
Worked in the round with a thumb that’s knit last, this is an ideal project for a beginning or a refresher Fair Isle knitter.

Materials
Cascade 220 Fingering – 4 ply – 100g, 250m/ 273yrd per hank
I have used above yarn held double throughout, If you would like to use single strand then light double knitting yarn will be just fine, taking into account that different fibres result in different finished effect. The approximate amounts of yarn you will require for both projects are: 4ply held double – 285m/311yrd of yarn A, 35m/38yrd of yarn B and 20m/22yrd of yarn C.
2 x Colour A – Indigo Frost Heather 9559 (1 x for gloves and 1 x for headband)
1 x Colour B – Goldenrod 7827
1 x Colour C – Natural 8010
Set of 4 x 3.25mm (US 3/ UK 10) double pointed needles (DPNs) – for gloves
3.25mm (US 3/ UK 10) circular knitting needles, 40cm (16in) long – for headband
3 x stitch markers
Finished size
After blocking.
Gloves – Knuckle circumference: S, M, L (16, 18, 20) cm, (6.3, 7, 7.8) in
Length: S, M, L (18, 18.5, 19.5) cm, (7, 7.2, 7.6) in.
Headband – 50 cm (19 in) in circumference and 9 cm (3.5 in) wide.
