Anora is an a-line shaped, open-style cardigan with seamless top-down raglan construction and features a gradient striping pattern at the bottom. A total of 4 colors will be needed (in worsted-weight): your main color and then 3 additional for the stripes and front bands. If you want to replicate a similar gradient-look, your main color should be the lightest and then each additional color should be a bit darker than the previous. Or, simply have fun playing with color and combine 4 shades together that you like.

This is a great beginner sweater pattern that combines lots of basic sweater techniques: knitting from the top-down, adding stripes, picking up stitches and working short rows (to shape the shawl collar).

Anora is an open-style cardigan meaning the front bands are not designed to overlap in the front (but can be stretched a bit and secured with a shawl pin or clasp if you like). The pattern does provide some notes though on a modification you can do to have the fronts overlap if you prefer. The a-line shape gives Anora a ‘swing’ feel as it floats away at your hips, a great shape on many body types.

• Color C (shown in Papuan): 46 (48, 52, 56, 60, 64, 68, 72) yds; 1 skein
• Color D (shown in Barred): 300 (324, 348, 372, 394, 426, 450, 476) yds; 3 (3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 4, 4) skeins

Needles and other supplies:
• US 7 32” circular needle or size needed to obtain gauge
• US 7 DPNs (or you can use the 32”circular for the magic loop method for sleeves)
• US 6 DPNs (or a US 6 32” circular if using the magic loop method for sleeves), or 1 needle size smaller than that used to obtain gauge
• Optional: a US 7 40” circular needle for working the front bands (not necessary though)
• 4 stitch markers
• 2 pieces of scrap yarn, approx 20” / 51 cm in length
• Tapestry needle to weave in ends
