Another cable sock
Yet another cable sock pattern? Yes, these socks have cables. They are still far away from being boring basic socks: Cables flow from cuff to heel and all the way till toes. Cables continue to heel flap and toe decreases - these details make the socks just the right amount of special!
Overview:
Another cable sock pattern is knitted cuff down with magic loop. Project is started with knitting 3 rounds of p1k1 rib. The pattern is started on both needles and it is continued through the cuff. Pattern is also continued in the heel flap. After the heel turn and gusset the pattern continues to the instep. Decreases are made following the original pattern and charts. Bind off happens with kitchener´s stitch.
Size: Instep circumference 21cm in size 1 and 22,5cm in size 2 (before blocking). You can adjust the lenght by knitting the instep longer before the decreases.
Note! If you´re pondering between two sizes, choose the larger size. Cables make the sock a bit tighter. Another option is to make the smaller size with slightly thicker yarn or block them with bigger sock blocker.
You´ll need:
2(3) skeins of Novita Huviretki -yarn or 225m(300m) similar dk weight yarn (approx.. 225m/100g).
3mm & 80cm circular needles
Yarning needle to finish the toe
Gauge:
23s/34krs = 10cm stockinette in the round on 3mm circular needles using magic loop (before blocking).
1.chart of size 1, one repeat= 4cm wide, 1,5cm high on 3mm circular needles using magic loop (before blocking).
Always choose the needles that give you the right gauge.
