With a hexagon swirl center this blanket then reverses itself into a spiraling vortex. Knit in the round, the center is knit first from the outside in. Then stitches are picked up around the edge to reverse the pattern. The vortex is an easily memorized lace knit which goes by quickly without much thought.
The sample was 48” and used 650 yards but could easily be made bigger with more repeats and yardage.
1/16/11: uploaded new pattern version. instructions for little spokes were missing from the transition section.
