Antinea, the heroine of “l’Atlandide” (Queen of Atlantis) written by Pierre Benoit, is the grand-daughter of Neptune and the absolute sovereign of the Hoggar, the heart of Sahara. Imagine that you walk along sand ripples of infinitely extending dunes while working lace, imagine that your horizon is pushed forward as you go in garter st section, and imagine that Antinea keeps you balanced on a ridge line between the 2 sections. That’s a big adventure!

This asymmetrical triangular shawl is knit from tip to end: half is worked in garter st, the other half is a lace section separated from the previous one by a vertical line. A lace picot edging is knit while working the body of the shawl; finishing combines I-cord BO and I-cord CO to knit the same picot edging on.

• Depth: 33” - Wingspan: 75 “. The shawl is easily resizable.
• Fully row by row written directions with 5 different finishes, 9 charts and links.
• 5 finishes: I-cord BO, picot BO, I-cord + picot BO (sample shown), I-cord BO + applied I-cord on the long edge, (I-cord + picot BO) + applied I-cord on the long edge
• Yarns: Lang yarns Magic Tweed Superwash (MC, #11), 5 balls and Lang yarns Mille colori Baby (CC, #39 ), 1 ball. I used exactly 910 yds/830 m of CP and 170 yds/155 m of CC.
• Materials: circular needle 4 mm/US 6, 1 DPN same size (option), 1 to 3 markers
• Gauge: about 20 sts x 46 rows in garter st. The gauge is not crucial but size and yardage requirements may be changed.
• Techniques: increases/decreases/yos and double yos/sl sts/pick up and knit sts/I-cord (I-cord BO and I-cord CO).

Antinéa, l’héroïne de l’Atlandide de Pierre Benoit, est la petite-fille de Neptune et la souveraine absolue du Hoggar, en plein Sahara. Imaginez que vous parcouriez les rides de dunes infinies avec le point dentelle, que votre ligne d’horizon s’éloigne à chaque rg de point mousse et qu’Antinéa vous maintienne en équilibre sur la ligne de crête qui sépare les deux sections. Ca, c’est l’aventure !

Ce châle triangulaire asymétrique se tricote à partir de la pointe ; la moitié est en point mousse, l’autre en point dentelle et une ligne verticale sépare les deux sections. Un petit picot en dentelle est travaillé en bout de rg, et le châle se termine par une I-cord sur laquelle on greffe le même picot.

• 83 cm de haut et 1,90 m d’envergure. Les dimensions peuvent être modifiées facilement.
• Explications détaillées rang par rang, 5 finitions, 9 diagrammes et liens.
• 5 finitions: I-cord, picot, picot + I-cord (modèle présenté), I-cord + une autre I-cord sur le grand bord, (I-cord + picot) + une autre I-cord sur le grand bord
• Fils : Magic Tweed Superwash (CP, coloris 11), 5 pelotes et Mille colori Baby (CC, coloris 39 ), 1 pelote. J’ai utilisé excatement 830 m de CP et 155 m de CC.
• Fournitures : aig. circulaire 4 mm, 1 aiguille double-pointe de même taille (option), 1 à 3 marqueurs
• Echantillon : environ 20 m. x 46 rgs en point mousse. L’échantillon n’est pas crucial pour ce modèle, mais peut affecter les dimensions et la quantité de fil néessaire.
• Techniques : augmentations/diminutions/jetés et double jetés/mailles glissées/relever des mailles/I-cord (fermeture des mailles et montage sur une I-cord).
