Antique Lace Thong in Silk-Cashmere
Note: This is not a complete pattern but rather a pattern description with general instructions.
This thong is inspired by the Myla Gail Brazilian thong. It is made up of 2 parts: (1) the basic crocheted thong with small scallop edgings, and (2) the wide antique lace that goes around the thong. The lace is sewn over the basic thong. Then the thong is decorated with sheer organdy ribbons and pearl beads in the front and back.
The Myla Gail thong has large ribbons at the back and loops of pearls at the side but I decided to forego these for the sake of simplicity. This thong also has a “keyhole” feature at the back and you can easily make this if you wish. You will just need to modify a basic crochet thong pattern.
Using half double crochet stitches, I made the basic thong in one piece starting at the front and decreasing into a triangle shape. Then I continue to the crotch and the narrow back which is about 5 stitches wide. Then about 2 inches before reaching the last row at the back, I split to make the “keyhole” feature.
