Antiquity Shawl
Some patterns are born from the idea of a stitch pattern, some come from an idea seen or imagined or an experience had and some are inspired by the yarn. This is certainly a case of the later.
The yarn wanted to be something special and so the Antiquity shawl was made. Of course a visit to a wildlife sanctuary helped also, this is where I saw up close and personal the most magnificent peacocks showing of their lovely display of feathers. It seemed fitting for the yarn.
The triangular shawl is worked from the top down to the point. The wingspan is gently curved to embrace the body, with shaping increases through out ending with a lightly scalloped border. The main pattern used for the body of the shawl is easy to remember and can be repeated more or less times to make a larger or smaller shawl. The pattern is both written and charted.
A smaller version of this shawl can be made using fingering weight yarn. Check out my project page for more information. http://www.ravelry.com/projects/WrenandOllie/antiquity-sh...
Thank-you so much to the lovely test knitters OneTwistedStitch, Pru & Lyonesset who gave their time and feedback, much appreciation!
