My husband is tired of plain stockinette socks. He decided that in this beautiful alpine country which has a long and rich tradition of knitted socks and stockings he deserves socks with more pep. As I am the knitter in the family, I had to fulfil this wish. Promptly!

These socks are knit top-down with a turn heel featuring a variant of a classical alpine stitch pattern which extends down the leg and over the foot.
