Anush, translated literally, means ‘sweet’ in Armenian. However it has a lot more meaning; it is often used to mean ‘let it be sweet’ when you serve a meal, drink a toast, or give a gift. More loosely translated it can be used to mean, let it be wonderful and enjoyed, and this is the meaning I chose for the shawl. Anush is meant to be a warm and luxurious shawl that makes you feel cozy both inside and out.

This pattern includes both charted and written directions.

The stole shown is knit in worsted weight yarn, but this stole could easily be knit in lace, fingering, sport, or DK weight yarn. In finer yarns the stole will be lighter.
Suggested needle sizes:
Lace weight yarn: US 3 (3.25 mm)
Fingering weight yarn: US 4 (3.5 mm)
Sport weight yarn: US 5 (3.75 mm)
DK weight yarn: US 6 (4 mm)

Gauge
Gauge is not essential for this pattern. I would recommend knitting a swatch to see if you like the look of the pattern on your needles, and adjust accordingly. For a less lacy look use smaller needles, and for a lacy open fabric use larger needles.

Difficulty
Intermediate
This pattern has lace patternwork on both right side and wrong side rows. The pattern is short and easy to memorize, but will require some attention when knitting.
