• Written in US terms.
• Yarn used: Caron Blossom Cakes in “Radiant Rainbow”.
• Hook size: J.
• (Please note, any weight and blend of yarn can be used, along with a suitably sized hook. Square size will of course be determined by yarn weight/hook size/ tension.)
• When using Caron Blossom Cakes and a size J hook, squares measure approx. 5” × 5”.
• Using worsted weight yarn and a size J hook, each square uses approx. 28 yards of yarn.
• Stitch count of squares = 15 stitches per side.

NOTES ON CONSTRUCTION OF SAMPLE BLANKET. The yarn I used for joining my squares was Lion Brand Pound of Love in “Vanilla” along with a size J hook. I joined my squares with a tight join using SC. After all of the squares were joined, I continued around with 2 rounds of Moss Stitch, making SC, chain 2, SC in the corners. I then fastened on a new color and went around with Moss Stitch, making SC, chain 2, SC in the corners. I then fastened that color off and attached another complimentary color. I then went around the same way with the Moss Stitch and fastened off at the end of the round. I carried the Vanilla color up and did two more rounds of Moss Stitch, making SC, chain 2, SC in the corners. The next round is made up by making a DC in each chain 1 space + chaining 1 in between each DC stitch. I made DC, chain 3, DC in each chain 2 corner space. After that round I went around with one more round of Moss Stitch, making SC, chain 2, SC.
To finish the BORDER off, I went around with my RICK RACK BORDER worked on the base of Moss Stitch.

RICK RACK BORDER : Working on the base of Moss Stitch work SS, DC, SS all worked in chain 1 space. Skip next stitch. SS in next chain 1 space. SS in next stitch. Repeat all around, making 2 SS, DC, 2 SS in each chain 2 corner space.
