Any-Yarn Yoga Socks
These easy heel-less, toeless ribbed yoga socks have a stockinette sole for extra comfort. This pattern is suitable for any yarn and needles, but please make sure to work at a gauge that is not extra-loose or extra-tight for your yarn, to ensure a comfortable fit.
Sizes include Women’s S/M (L)
For foot circumferences of about 8”/20cm (9”/23cm)
Materials:
- Any yarn you choose. I used about 211 yards (193 meters) of fingering weight sock yarn.
- circular needles or DPNs to match your yarn. I used size US 3 (3.25mm), which is about the biggest I could recommend for a sock weight yarn
- 2 stitch markers (one for end of round)
Stitches & Techniques:
K (knit), P (purl), and BO/CO mid-row
TIP: Convert for Picot Top & Bottom Edges -- If you want picot top & bottom edges instead, just replace the (K1, P1) ribbing at the beginning and end of the pattern with these instructions:
Picot Top Edge
When you CO your sts, leave a long (18”) yarn tail end to stitch the picot edge down later.
Knit 5 rounds
(YO, K2tog) around for 1 round - remember to make your YO toward the FRONT, not the back
Knit 5 rounds
Work the rest of the sock exactly as written until you come to the final (K1, P1) ribbing section. Do this instead:
Picot Bottom Edge
Knit 5 rounds
(YO, K2tog) around for 1 round - remember to make your YO toward the FRONT, not the back
Knit 5 rounds
When you BO your sts, leave a long (18”) yarn tail end to stitch the picot edge down.
To finish, fold the (YO, K2tog) round toward the inside of the sock, and use the yarn tail end to stitch it down loosely. If you stitch it too tightly, you may find it difficult to get the sock on.
