Aoi Kimono constructed top down with drop shoulder, no bust or waist shaping to keep it simple, a little bit of Kitchener grafting at the shoulder, a little bit of slit at each side at waist. And Herringbone stitch which I choose to spice up this kimono design for the front edging. The sleeve length is a little bit over the elbow, but no shaping included, so if you want to make it into wrist length the diameter would be as big as in kimono style.

The Kimono means to have 15 cm / 6” positive ease, it means that this would be an oversized garment.

Gauge
22 stitches and 28 rows over 10 cm (4”) square in stockinette stitch after blocking.
30 stitches and 30 rows over 10 cm (4”) square in herringbone stitch after blocking.

Materials
DK weight yarn approximately 700 - 1120 meters total for main color and edging color.
4.00 mm / US 6 or as required to meet gauge, 35 cm / 14” circular.
Stitch marker, stitch holder or scrap yarn, tapestry needle.
